my brother has been given a computer its only 12 months old.so he took is old one out connected up the one he was given.but when he tried to in stall his broadband on to it as it was on sky before the dvd does not work it goes through the motions a disc comes up on the screen then goes off and thats all that happens. it will not play a dvd or a music disc he was told it was all working when he was given it but not when he connected it up any help please

Are the jumpers set correctly?

As to DVD does he have DVD playing software installed?
