can any1 help what is the best way to transfer data ie saved music files etc across from my pc to laptop my pcs hard drive is full im trying to backup everything on my pc to do a full reinstall of windows any suggestions please///////

there are a few ways you could do this:

1) Back everything up to data CD's/DVD's, load onto laptop (CD or DVD writer required on pc, cd/dvd reader required on laptop)

2) Buy a data transfer kit (I personally would not reccomend one of these, they are ok and do the job but there are other ways... down to personal choice at the end of the day though)

3) Buy an external hard disk enclosure (can get them from eBay for under £20, put your hard drive in the enclosure and plug it in... plug the usb lead into your laptop and transfer files over to the laptop's hard drive as normal (this is probably the fastest method and it allows you to transfer files easily in the future and is good for backup purposes)

There may be others but the are the main ones i can think of.
