C++ Runtime error
I am trying to use Nikon Capure software and keep getting the following error.
The instruction at "0x7c168f1d" referenced
memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be
"read".
I've un-installed and re-installed the program. I'm using the latest versions. It works fine on my laptop loaded from the same CD's Both computers are running XP and have most of the same programs installed. The only real difference is my laptop is an Intel Celeron CPU and my Desktop is an AMD chip. I've searched Google and Yahoo and found references to the same error with other software but no posts as to answers. Nikon tech support is stumped. Short of re-installing XP I don't know what to do. All help is greatly appreciated.

Some computers have a nasty habit of assigning systems resources to items in your comp (example-memory) and not wanting to release theses resources even after you have removed/replaced any components. Win 2000 is the worst of the lot for this, actually have to regedit to clear the issue. Have you kept up with all the updates posted for XP?

Yea, everything is current. I've been fighting this issue for two weeks. No body seems to know the answer. It's very frustrating! Could this be a driver conflict? A network problem? Space aliens? Is it a voodoo curse?
