In general "Stop Error on F1" is a BIOS setting.
Usually the error is displayed and you press F1 to continue.
You can remove this BIOS setting to not stop on F1 or you can try and discover the error. What exactly does it say prior to F1?

Also I just saw your clock thread.
You have some type of BIOS/CMOS dysfunction going on.
The F1 might also relate to no saved BIOS settings.

when i turn on my computer and before i am told to press f1. it says
invalid configuration information press f1 to start set up. i have not got a clue i have only just starting to learn how to use a computer any help please.

Press F1 and look for a setting that says: "Set Defaults"
Choose that and then "Save Changes and Exit".
The computer should then restart.

If it doesn't work, maybe the BIOS can't hold the mem. Maybe your CMOS battery is low.

i changed the battery and it works spot on thanks to everyone for your help.
