If you installed XP off of a retail Microsoft CD rather than the OEM for the laptop you probably need the drivers from the laptop manufacturer.

Tried that but Toshiba are useless, I looked here:

Tryed Panasonic aswell cant find it anywhere.

At Toshiba did you uncheck the date line? If you do you get some drivers and BIOS. I cannot direct link to the page but these are two downloads:

lol, it asks me for a floppy to write the files to. Toshiba are so dumb they dont even know what there products have in them. :P
