    Is Google your home page?

Is IE set to auto start?

If you login and choose "remember" does it go away?

You can go to: start > Run... > msconfig > Startup

Remove Google entries as well as IE.

You might also want to remove the Google toolbar if you have it.

hi, i'm not sure what it is referring to. i do have google as my homepage but i don't knwo what it is asknig me to log onto. i think it might be related to gmail notifyer, as this comes on at start up. IE isn't set to auto start. i don't see what value it has as it doesn't seem to do anything. this is what is on my start up

I doubt it. Just start it when you go to Google.

    Did this just start happening?

Have you always used G-Mail like this etc.

I ask as this is also reported as a Trojan file under certain instances.

yeh it is really useful to have notifier there to let you know of mail in case you haven't logged intio gmail, but if this i the cost it is quite annoying

it did happen when i first downloaded notifier, yes, but i don't feel this pc is very secure so would like to check for possible Trojen files. is there a good way to do this?

    thanks
