USB Problem

Re: USB Problem
Yes, I'm using the rear ports. I've also tried all the ports. I just updated to that BIOS a few days ago, it was suggested by a friend. But still doesn't work. My printer seems to be working now. But my USB hub and my phone still isn't connecting.

See if you can add drivers on those "Unknown Devices".
I am searching for Intel(r) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller issues.
-
I know one of the unknown device is my phone, I asked some people about drivers for the phone and they say it's in this program called activesync, which I already have and installed, but still doesn't work. Not sure what the other unknown device is.
-
Right click and Properties should show it.
You can also try to let windows load drivers from a right click command.
Also click View and Hidden Devices.
Do you have listings under "Other Devices"?
-
It's the same when I click view hidden device. It just says no drivers are installed. I didn't install any drivers when I first got my phone, and it worked fine, now suddenly it just stopped.

Note: Completely removing USB creates problems for users who have both USB keyboard and mouse connected. When you reboot to Windows Standard Mode, NO input device is recognized making it impossible to continue. To prevent this from happening, change one input device to PS/2 until you have completed the cleanup.
I have a USB mouse, so is this telling me to remove it? Cause I lost the PS/2 adapter.

I have never gone through this process. Just use that web site for reference so I'm really not sure.
I would think a keyboard should get you through.
If you are used to the Windows Welcome screen which would require the mouse just use Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the login window will appear.
Again I just saw it as a possibility. If you are not comfortable trying it we can keep looking. That page was referred to in another thread with your same Intel chipset having USB issues.
