Connecting drive won't let XP start...
Hello all! As an introduction to myself, I'll ask you a question, just to see how good you are, you understand...
I've just connected a second HDD, & changed what IDE some of my drives are on... & XP doesn't like it! I've got a HDD on each IDE, & am trying to run my CDRW drive as a slave on one of them, but it causes XP to crash/reset during startup. It boots fine in safe mode though, & all drives work fine then.
To get it to boot in normal mode, I have to disconnect the CDRW drive, update the bios settings & then all's fine...
The bios settings appear to be ok, as are the jumpers on the drives...
I used to have the CDRW & an old (broken!) CD drive on one IDE, and a single HDD on the other.
Any ideas; I'm stumped!
Cheers!
