Constant restarting
so you may remember when I had problems installing xp to the older computer well I installed it to a new 40gb hard drive and ran the 20gb as a slave but now the computer restarts itself randomly.
what could cause this could the 20gb be causing this?

-
it says pagefault in nonpaged area
-
and now it says nv4_disp.dll and BSOD
-
now it says disc read error at startup.
-
Try running Check Disk:
Go to start Run... and type: cmd
Then type: chkdsk /r
You will be told the volume is in use do you want to run chkdsk on next boot? Type: Y and reboot.
If you cannot boot "normally" boot into Safe Mode.
-
It says disc read error on startup I mean after the bios loads up after post XP will not even come up
-
I would try to boot the manufacturers diagnostic program for the hard drive.
If no errors are found you can boot the XP CD into the Recovery Console and try some commands.
FIXBOOT and FIXMBR and BOOTCFG would for starters.
-
I tried all the above and tried to repair the installation and the reinstalled windows to a windows folder 1 and then tried to copy the files but it still says the same thing disc read error
-
There were no errors on the hard drive diagnostic?
If not check the RAM:
