hi everyone

my pc has a problem, whenever i turn up or down the volume knob in the keyboard, my keyboard and mouse freeze, i can move the cursor, but cant click on anything nor write or move with keyarrows, i can only open the task manager by ctrl+alt+delete, but still can reset my pc as normal, i have to reset it manually by pressing the button on cpu

all this started after having installed the "sims 2" game i downloaded from a torrent, i was testing some mods i tried, and then i tried to get the volume higher through the volume knob in the keyboard and the mouse and keyboard freeze, but the game continue and everything in the background too, also when i open winamp and turn the volume knob, the music continues playing but keyboard and mouse freeze

to control the volume i have to turn it higher or lower through the speaker near the hour to the lower right >>>>

this is the keyboard i use - the volume knob is to the upper right, i cant also press the mute button to the right of the volume knob

its not an usb, i think this kind of keyboard is called PS/2


i have:

-microsoft windows XP professional (2002 version - service pack2)

and my pc is:

hp pavillion
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+
1.80GHz, 224 MB of RAM


please help me to solve this so i can take off the tape i put all over the volume knob so i dont turn it accidentally xD

Use a System Restore point prior to this installation.

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
