Don't admit defeat - just declare it a low priority and stick it on the back burner for awhile.

Thank you for that, it is low priority at the end of the day, I can just use another computer if I want to access the site. It's sometimes useful for contact as some people live on there, but other times I go on when I'm in a bad mood so that I can moan at how pathetic some of things people post on there are, a bit like Victor Meldrew (if you are familiar with him in the US).

Just a little follow up - it turned out that the problem was Jetico Personal Firewall.

Thanks for the followup, but what was the fix? Upgrade, replace, or reconfigure the firewall?
