Hi Good Day!
I really need help guys. I just bought my pc last 12/16/2007 but for some reason is not working properly. I installed Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne with the latest DOTA map 6.50AI and Sims 2. When playing playing Warcraft 3 (using the DOTA 6.5) or any campainge it would restart my pc after 10 - 15 minutes of play time. The Sims 2 would crash if your would transfer to another city in the game.
Here's the specs of my pc.
Intel Pentium D 3.0Ghz (925) 2x2mb 800hmz dual core LGA 775 processor
MSI 945GCM5-F/1333 motherboard
corsair 1gb DDR2 PC667
seagate160gb160 sata hdd
Am using the on board vc on the motherboard strech to 128mb.
Here's the error am getting:
BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : EC32CBEE BCP3 : EB92D70C
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1
Please really want to learn what's wrong with the pc. I hope it's not a hardware problem.
I also have norton 2004 anti virus.
Thanks for the help in advance.... ^^
Did you build this or was it manufactured?
Here is the basic error:
I suspect you need a graphics card. That on-board chip is not going to handle too much.0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).
0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
A memory access violation occurred.
You might also try running MemTest.
I bought the parts from the shop and they assemble it for me. Am planning to buy Inno3D 7300GT 256 DDR3 VC. Am kinda on a budget, do you think that is a good choice vc for my computer.
Is it possible the board can't handle processing both the on board vc plus the 1 gig memory it has.
That board should have no problem. It is built for a lot more RAM and also for a high end PCI_E card.
I would test the RAM that you have with MemTest but I would still suspect the graphics chip especially if the issue occurs with gaming.
What is your budget and where are you? I'd suggest a bit higher end card than a 7300. You can get 8000 series for not too much more. Most short of 8800's are under $200 US.
You might also point out this problem to the shop in case they made any mistakes or have any other ideas. I would assume there is a warranty?
Am located in Manila , Philippines. It's kinda expensive for me to buy 8000 series at this time though i would like to buy an 8000 series vc. Here the 8000 series it's around 8000 pesos = $200 which is out of my budget already ( i only have 3000 pesos ,$1 = 40 pesos , ).
Am planning to let the shop check on the pc as well. What should i download from the memtest website.. thanks so much for the help man.. really appreciate it...
If you have a floppy drive that is easiest:
The card you mention should be at least twice as powerful as your current chipset.
You have a very nice motherboard and processor so there is a lot of room for upgrading in the future. Another 1GB of RAM would go well too when you get the opportunity.
Dude!!!!
Thanks for your advise last time. For some reason warcraft 3 is working fine.... but i have'nt run memtest yet.. i will do it today.... really thanks for the help man.... I will the results asap... ^^
Thanks for the update.
Let us know how it goes.
Hi good day. I run memtest for 8 hours. Unfortunately i have to stop memtest at the 8 hour of it's testing. I was not able to finish it because i need to go work so i shut down my computer then.
I did check the status of the test. There was no errors posted and 30 times the memory past.
Still today i tried to play warcraft and the computer restarted again. One of my friends said to use a benchmark tool to test my motherboards VC.
Any other suggestion i should do? Thanks in advance.... ^^
MemTest will run forever until you stop it.
Apparently you have no RAM errors. At least none that MemTest can find.
I still suspect your integrated graphics are not up to this game.
