My Scanner Does Not Go In XP

I have updated from 98 to XP a while ago but my scanner does not want to come along.

Perhaps it needs a new driver for XP?

When I try to launch it, a scanner icon appears in the bottom right of the taskbar (which is usual) with what appears to be a minus sign in a red circle (unusual.) When you put the cursor over the icon it says "scanner not found."

Scanner is Genius ColorPage-Vivid Pro USB model FU624D.

There is a test programme that I have run. The results are, Scanner is not found! Check power (yes) check USB cable (yes) check USB setting is enabled in BIOS (can't find that but can't understand why that might have changed.)

In general XP does not require USB drivers.

However there are many hits if you search Google.

Just be aware that many of these hits are just SPAM gimmicks.

All that being said perhaps there is something there you need.

Did the scanner come with any installation software?

Thank you Jephree, I shall go and have a look.

Yes the scanner did come with it's own software but I imagine that it was just for 98 as that was what was installed at the time.
