Every time I log onto an account on my laptop, I always have to adjust the speed of my mouse for my touch pad to be faster. Anyway to make this permanent?

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

But this could also be a setting on your Laptop rather than Windows.

What do you mean? What could be wrong with my laptop?

I didn't mean there was anything wrong with it but it might have settings that revert to default everytime you start it.

How can I investigate and see what it is if that could be the problem?

Try the edit I posted and if that doesn't work look in the laptop manual for such settings.
