    Windows Time

Hi Everyone, This is my first post and I want to thank you for having me as registered user, I am very happy to be here.

My windows time keeps going ahead anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes. I reset it but after awhile it starts all over again. Can anyone give me advise on how I can fix this or acquire a time devise other then Windows time so I will not have this annoying problem. I am running WindowsXP Home SP2.

    Thank you

    Hello and welcome to DAL.

Do you have Internet Time selected under the Control Panel > Date and Time?

    If not do so.

I also find using an atomic clock sync is nice such as:

Hi jephree and thank you. Yes I have Internet Time selsected under the control panel. I am wondering if the battery just needs replacing since my computer is 2003.

I doubt it. If the battery were low you would have BIOS errors as well usually.

Of course it an as easy thing to change if you wish.

You could try that Atomic Clock Sync just to see what changes it detects.

I am going to go ahead and change the battery. I updated my BIOS about a month and half ago. Does my BIOS revert back to default when I change the battery and will I lose that update because of it? I know nothing about this so your answer is of importance. Thank you

The BIOS version (update) will not change.

All the BIOS settings will be returned to Default.
