I am in need of some help if possible.
I reinstalled XP due to various problems that i was experiencing and now my laptop will not connect wirelessly.
I have a Netgear router DG834G.
It says that there is a wireless connection but it will not connect to the internet.
As soon as i switch to the Ethernet cable it will connect straight away, no problems.
Netgear will not help me as i am out of the warranty help period apparently.
Any help appreciated
I know how to get into the router settings, bit not much help there for me.

I had the same problem with my computer when I first installed the motherboard. I think the same may apply to you although my machine is not a laptop.

Go into the CMOS set-up when you fire up your laptop. Go through all the various settings and any that mention 'Ethernet' ensure that they are made 'unavailable.' Then 'save and exit.'
