I tried to install service pack 2 but half way throufg I get a message ''internal error'' and then a message ''installation incomplete'' days before this I discovered my dialer had been hijacked, I was dialing a number in a far away country, I sorted this out, but discovered a lot of small things were happening, drop and drag was gone, my networks folder was empty,I cannot use search for files, I had an older version of norton and uninstalled it, and bought systemworks 2005 premier, I got a recovery disc in the pagkage, so I decided to run this first and scan my pc, it turned up 9 files infected with the verifybet trojan and also the bloodhound.packer, it removed the infected files, but I cannot install the new antivirus programme, about half way through it I get the message ''installition has failed, do you want to retry, I have tried several times, uninsalling it each time and trying again, at the start of installation I run virus scan and it keeps turning up another infected file, system restore is turned off.

Advice, save your vital files, run a slipstream of xp2 and windows xp, format drive and reinstall.
