Critical softwrap error
I keep getting this message on startup,
Critical Softwrap
softwrap file error 1.
Does anyone have any idea what this is.
I did un-install some things that i've never used
for ages yesterday, is this the problem?
Thanks for looking.
Kevin.

Softwrap is anti-pirating (software) related. Do you use P2P file sharing? ("FREE" Music downloads etc)

Hi Dan, i did download a couple free music download sites, but i did'nt use them as i was worried about "viruses" etc., and i think that's one of the
sites i deleted from the computer, the other one i have'nt been able to delete.
I am not very p.c. savvy, so any help is greatfully received.
Thanks Kevin.

I noticed on your desktop that there is a "Warez P2P" link, which is why I asked.
Warez is "another name" for pirated software, and P2P (Point to Point) file sharing is/can be a dangerous thing due to virus/trojan propagation. (Well, both warez and P2P can be.)
What is the name of the one you can't delete? There are ways......
Eliminating the download may eliminate the Softwrap error.

Hi Dan, it is called "Blubster".
-
Has "Blubster" been "installed" and you can't remove it through Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs,
or,
is it just the downloaded installation file which you can't delete?
-
That's right Dan, i installed and now can't remove through control/add/remove.
-
Stubborn little bugger eh?
Does it just "sit there" (passive, and only refusing to be uninstalled), or does it try to "start/load things" etc?
-
Yeah! it's just stubborn and won't shift.

If it's listed in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, but won't uninstall;
1. Go to Start, Programs, Blubster (or whatever it's called there). See if there's an "Uninstall" choice. If so, try that first. If not, then;
2. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\%whatever it's listed under%. (It may be under the software companys name.) See if there's an "Uninstall" or "Unwise" file to uninstall. If so, try that. If not, then;
3. Delete the entire problem directory (Folder) from C:\Program Files, and the entry from Start, Programs.
Once the program is "hard" deleted, go here and follow the directions to remove the entry from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
Post back with your results and any further questions.
