have removed drive from my useless computer can I put it as slave in another tower unit.

Yes.

Just install as slave (set the jumpers to slave).

Boot the good Master XP and you will have access to the slave drive.

You will not be able to use any programs but you can access the data on the slave.

Sorry I did not explain corectly I need to use the data on hard drive it is a program which was written purposely and do not have it anywhere else

The only way is to clone the drive.

Some manufacturers offer this option otherwise there is software you can purchase to do this.

got a Maxtor can go in external enclosure but what now please.

You will want to put the new Maxtor as the Secondary Master i.e. replace your DVD/CD drive connection (temporarily).

Then MaxBlast 5 has a cloning option:

You boot the floppy and set to clone from your Primary Master to the (new) Secondary Master.

After the process you will replace the old drive with the new drive and then reconnect your DVD/CD drive.
