installing xp on a new harddrive
Hi guys i already have xp install on my comp. i am thinking of adding a new hard drive, now do i install xp on the new drive or is there a way to copy everything including xp to the new drive. also should i make the new drive a master or a slave, the new drive will be my main drive cause is gonna be a bigger capacity drive more gigs.

Your main (system) drive should be Master.
You can either reinstall XP on the new drive or you can clone your old drive to the new drive.
There are several programs that do this very simply although many co$t $$$.
Some hard drives such as Maxtor have their own free tool (MaxBlast).
Some software options here:

thanks very much jephree, i will probably reisntall xp on the new drive which will be sata, the current drive is ata. then i will take a look at the programs that will allow me to transfer the games and softwares that i have on my current drive to the new drive.

Make sure you have your motherboard SATA/RAID drivers on a floppy before installing XP to a SATA drive.
I do not think there is any software that will transfer your programs without cloning the entire hard drive.
Programs write into the XP registry and as such they need to be re-written via reinstalling.
Cloning is your only option if you do not wish to reinstall everything.
