How do you update windows?

Update to what?

If you mean Windows Update go to start > All Programs > Windows Update

If you mean from say XP to Vista you need to go buy an upgrade edition of Vista.

not from XP to vista. but is vista good anyway?

You can also set Windows Update to automatic via:

Right click My Computer then click Properties then Automatic Updates.

My personal position is to wait for Windows 7 in a couple of years.

XP will be fine until then. But everyone has an opinion.
