    HD Video Lag...

Okay well my computer is pretty decent, two 512 sticks....500GB space.. Decent motherboard and blah blah blah, but lately whenever i try to play a trailer for a game or movie from the internet, for some reason the video playback laggs and stalls up. Normally it would play without a hitch; clean...clear...fast. When i try to play the same HD trailers on my friends computer ( which is a dinosour compared to mine ) his plays it perfectly fine. It might take very very very long for his P.C to buffer it, but nevertheless it plays it fine without ant stalling or lagging. What could be making the HD videos lagg while i watch them ?

Random info: I can play any Movies i download perfectly fine without any lags, its just specifically any HD trailers from ANY sites. E.G. gametrailers.com or apple.com/trailers.

    Any suggestions?

P.S does this topic even belong in here? Sorry.

Sorry no one answered. This sure looks like a latency issue with your network connection. Since you can play the video fine once it is downloaded, that suggests your graphics system is fine, and so is your HD. How do you connect to the Internet? Is your friends computer on the same network as your computer?

You might want to test your connection using SpeedTest - see this thread.

You might also ensure your system if clean of Malware - I suggest you run through your complete arsenal of anti-malware scanners. See Cleaning Out Malware for suggestions.

Note that a network cable that is crimped or has been tripped over one too many times can cause significant latency issues too. They're are cheap and not very rugged.
