Turns out I already have downloaded SP1, but while I was at it i found SP2 had not been downloaded so I loaded that.

I'm going to completely reinstall again...I'll get back if I still have the problem.

Wow, after installing SP2, my SoundMAX was located and now my sound is working great. Thanks jephree and Bear for all the help.

It must be specific to Home Edition because I have Other Devices in Device Manager
