After booting, My Documents folder is automatically getting opened without my involvement. I am confused.
Is there any virus or spy attack. What could be the probs. Please help me.

Click Start, Run, type regedit in the Open box. Hit ENTER.

Navigate/click down to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane, ensure the value for Userinit is;

C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,
(If C: is your Windows drive)
NOTE: Mine has the comma at the end, yours may not.

If you need to change the value, right-click Userinit, and then click Modify. Make the change and click OK.


Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right pane, ensure the value for PersistBrowsers is set to 0x00000000 (0) (ie;zero). If it isn't, right-click PersistBrowsers, and then click Modify. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type 0 (zero) under Value data, and then click OK.

Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
