ok i am a noob when it comes to computers sorry

ok i turn on my laptop and it do the HP screen, then the windows xp with the blue loading timer thing, then it comes to the user screen and up pops a message that says " an invalid parameter was passed to a service or function"

and there is a ok tap i click ok and it just reboost and dose the same thing over and over.

Try tapping the F8 key after the HP page yet before XP tries to load.

This will give you Safe Mode options. Choose Safe Mode and wait a few minutes while files are listed and listed etc.

Eventually you should be asked if you want to System Restore. Say yes and choose the latest restore point when all was well.

are you the system administrator of the machine, have you got all the discs?

no i got the computer form a good frein dof mine he is the amistrater and was going to give me all the disks and never did

still not working

Did it Restore? Did it go to Safe Mode?

Please give us as much detail as possible.

You can also try F10 if it is a Compaq/HP.

it did do a thing it lol it just came up with the same error massage and reboot

tried f10 and still no go same error

You will need a recovery CD.

HP sells them but you might also need to know your Product Key.
