I know this is a rather lame question, but. I want to do a system recovery on a dying laptop, (compaq with XP) about 6 years old now. When I get to the screen giving me the choice of starting the recovery I am prompted to enter f18. The function keys on my keyboard go up to f12 and I cannot for the life of me figure out what key I need to hit in combination with another to get f18. Anyone know?

Must be F8. This is how you get there.

F10 and F8 simultaneously of course. JUST KIDDING!

It might also be a graphics glitch.

Compaq usually uses F10 for their System Recovery.

This reinstalls XP. It is not a System Restore.

Anyway just a possibility. I can see how 0 can be 8 with a bit of "whatever".

Also it could be the 0 with the cross hair sometimes used on old computers.
