Re: Will not shut down?
Forgive me for jumping in.
My computer started this same thing last week. I did find my hard drive was hot. Do not know how much is to much. I cleaned the three fans and put box off the floor up with a fan on it . It still dos not shut down all the time.

Avie - Please do not attempt to hijack another member's thread with your problem. This is considered poor forum etiquette as it takes the focus away from the other member and can cause confusion for those responding. Also, since it is not likely you have the exact same hardware, software, or configuration, the cause of the problem and course of action to fix it are likely to be different. By starting your own thread with your own problem, you receive the dedicated attention you deserve too.
You are certainly welcome to follow along in the other thread to see if suggested actions may apply to your situation.

Dear Digerati,
Forgive me, it will happen again. Was trying to save paper! Also very frustratingly questioning the possible cause. Seems to be resolved with some of the past failing updates problems I did at least 67 manually after MS and I did the fateful XPsp2 "r". Shame on them for causing such a mess. . (Windowssecrets was salvation) I have truly shut down the auto update process and my machine is behaving.
May other benefit from your wonderful web site., always.
Gratefully, Avie
