    Right click on My Computer. Choose Properties. Click Advanced. Under "Startup and Recovery", click on Settings. Under "System Startup", choose the boot option which works. This will make it the boot default. Click on OK, OK. Restart your machine.

    Thank you pc-guy. What you wrote above is exactly what I have been doing. I get a new boot.ini which is added to those that are already in my boot-up file.

    Having said that, when I fired up this morning everything was perfect, with no selection of boot-up required. Maybe it has sorted itself out................For the time being, knowing how contrary my machine can be!
