    Hi to you,
Running avg prof w firewall. Very clean machine and light since I lost my whole My Documents contents.. Just trying to update and collect before abandoning and giving it away. I run ccleaner and 'AVG daily. Had problems with cable connections last week and not hold passwords. Have spywareBlaster and MRU blaster and host file. 127... My graphics are ragged and flash muti color and page transfers blink to black page. Cannot get any drivers to update for XP.No spyware, virus show up. I think CC took a ntuil file ,I read. And seatools found hard drives ok but one was HOT. I had to fix printer and Sony CD re again for no reason since yesterday. (Found different version of needed files for the installers. Tech guy told me he had seen that before. But no help. I want to be able to put data on my cd disc to take and then clean up and reinstall. C drive going out for data recovery. Have new vista HP waiting on the floor.
I tried sfc /scannow and I thought it was going to reinstall the whole XP.
Anything else? Thanks for answering my problems.

Just click on the "Continue Validation Required" button in the horizontal gold bar. It will "verify" that your copy of XP is genuine, and proceed to the download link. When you get to the link, scroll down the page until you see three DOWNLOAD buttons on the right side. The first (top) one is a text file about the installer. The middle button is the EULA (End User License Agreement), and the bottom button is the installer. (2.5 MB)

Dan. I am missing the three download buttons to the right of the DOWNLOAD. I had been here before and tired to uninstall NET 1.1 and reinstall. But then I could not install anything. Called you for help. No go so far. Another rabbit in the hat around? Thanks always.

    You did this first?:
"Just click on the "Continue Validation Required" button in the horizontal gold bar."

Did your copy of XP get validated?

Did it ask you to download updated DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE?

The installer appeared after I did a total "R" with microsoft. then DNS flush, then ran Dial a Fix, then safe mode delete of dat files. Remove and reinstall Net frame 1.1, Reinstall of AVG firewall 15 time, hard drive tests, fixed problems with cable settings and about left my internet provider. Found lots of stuff on no update from MS and also Windows Defender. (Error 0x80004002). (Egghead cafe.com) After trying everything I went to safe mode to repair AVG and low and behold a svchost 32 file installed and everything was fixed. Even the missing apps in the start menu.

If anyone is having problems with auto update, it is a MS glich.

I need to check my memory. Could not get mem test 86+ to work off A drive, yet.

    Progress in the works.

This issue is resolved. Proper installer was done through MS auto update. Thanks for assistance and advice. Avie
