Question Drag & Drop in Start Menu...

I'm having the hardest time dragging and dropping my icons in my start menu. Some won't budge at all. Does anyone know of a (preferably freeware) program that allows you to organize your Start Menu?

I already have Tidy Start Menu, which is fantastic for putting icons into folders in the start menu, but it doesn't support arranging icons in a specific order.

    Thanks folks, you guys rock!

Unless otherwise stated no one has any idea of what has been tried and what not.

To many people a Google search leads to an answer as we have no idea who knows how to Google and who does not.

An attempt to help is an attempt to help.

    It should be appreciated.

Anyway I would ask for more details as to your desire.

Most programs you can right click and PIN to the start menu.

I have never seen "folders" on the start menu.

We are talking about start on the lower left corner? Yes?

More details as to your query would help us help.

Please accept my most sincere apologies. You're absolutely right. It was foolish of me to make that assumption. Of course, any help is help nonetheless...

Oh, I forgot. I am referring to the folders within the start menu in the lower-left corner. I'm having trouble moving the links around in the order I want them.

    Thanks for understanding.

Again I have never seen folders on the start menu. Yet again I run fairly basic setups.

Were these folders created by a third party program or did you create them with XP itself?

On my start menu (no folders) I can right click and drag any program and move/change its' position on the list.

I'm speaking of folders such as Accessories, etc. Most folders were created by installing software, but some were put there by me in order to consolidate and organize the shortcuts by category.

    Just to clarify:

    Start Menu or All Programs?

Accessories for example is listed under All Programs.

Did the links above offer any help?
