Hey everyone,

a friend of mine has got some troubles starting XP.

Basically, when it starts up there's no icons, or start menu, only the background.

Just wondering what it could be?

You might try a System Restore to a point prior to your problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Try Ctrl+Esc

or:

Ctrl+Alt+Del to the Task Manager and Run...
