[URGENT] PC won't start, need it for my exams

    hi,
    I'll list the whole problem...
1st my PC used to get stuck at the Win XP loading splash screen, it can load for hours but doesn't go to Windows. I can access Safe Mode though. Anyway after i tried everything I decided to da a Repair install with the Win XP Pro CD.

After it finished, now after the Win XP loading splash screen, a BSOD appears but the problem is it doesn't state the error name. I still can access Safe mode.

plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help, i have exams & assignments, neeed Windows.

See Stop 7e - MS Knowledge Base Article 330182.

Most common cause is bad RAM - if you have more than one stick/module, pull all but one (making sure the remaining module is in the correct slot for 1 module) and see if it boots - swapping out modules until you discover the bad one. Ensure you follow necessary ESD precautions by discharging static in your body to the bare metal chassis before, and frequently thereafter, sticking your mitts inside the case.

Alternatively to test your RAM, I recommend MemTest86+. Select Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win). Unzip the file to a convenient location, insert a formatted floppy disk in the floppy drive, double-click on install.bat to install. Then, with the floppy in the drive, reboot the computer. The computer should boot to the floppy and start testing your RAM. Let it run for several passes or even overnight. You should have no reported errors. Instructions to create a bootable CD version is available too but I note this is yet another reason why the floppy is not dead - yet! An excellent how-to guide is available here.

And as always - UNPLUG your PC from the wall to ensure all standby voltages are removed from the motherboard before doing any maintenance inside.

    Also check out BSOD Diagnosis.

I deleted my display driver then it worked so i went and installed the new ones. Everything was fine after I restarted with the new drivers. After that I restarted again and da 1st problem came back (the Win XP loading splash screen is loading forever). what shall i do???!

It sounds to me like either your graphics card drivers or else the card itself.

What is the make and model of the card?
