    Angry Won't Delete Files!

Hello, I own a laptop with Windows XP on it,

I recently moved some files to my Drive E, with is where I write files onto blank CDs/DVDs

After I had written the files to disc, I went to delete the ones on the drive
    But it won't let me!

Keeps coming up with the following error/message -

    ''Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete <inserts file name> It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again''

Naturally, I close all programs down, so that the only thing open is the folder/drive E.

I try to delete again, but the same message appears!
I also can't rename or move them!

They are stuck there, I'm the only user on my laptop, so no one else is using the files/has them open!

I thought I would leave them there and irgnore them, but when I go to write files on CD's, they also write on there! Even though I only highlighted/selected the ones I wanted!

Can someone PLEASE help me?! Getting really annoyed with it all, also went to the official Windows help site, but they won't let me post a message or anything!

Usually quiet good with computers, but can't think of what to do!
I tried opening the files and editing so I can resave the file and then delete, but it won't let me resave them!

Try opening your CD/DVD RW drive (in windows explorer) and clearing all the files there... If the disk is still in the machine, remove it

If that doesnt work, click Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to processes... see if you can see a program relating to the files, if so, right click and click end process.
Be careful not to end any important/windows processes

click start>run and type in services.msc see if anything related comes up there

What files are you trying to delete?

do you have a windows xp installation disk?

hmm can you not uninstall adobe illustrator from control panel>add/remove programs?

If you boot from your XP disk you can delete files by using a DOS type screen before windows has loaded, that way the program will not be running, therefore you will be able to delete the files.

Here are two possible programs to help in deleting:

    Move On Boot

    Delete FXP

    download FXP
