Every time I try to start up my computer, it just shuts down in the middle of starting up. Sometimes it willl make it as far as the welcome screen and other times it will turn off right away. i doubt its a virus because i havent had internet for a while. Any ideas?

yes it started today. (i made my computoer). it has a 2.4ghz Intel core 2 duo processor, 1 gig of COrsair TWINX 667 mhz DDR2 RAM, Intel socket 775 ATX motherboard, and a GeForce 7300 GS OC 256mb PCI express video card. My wireless intenet broke so i moved my comp. to my living room (where the router is) to see if i could get internet. When i put it back in my room and tried to start it up, it just kept turning off. im running windows xp and it was running fine yesterday before i moved it. the computor is fairly new (6 months maybe) and its not very dirty. no new hardware or software except i tried to install and ethernet adapter but i took it out right away after putting it in.

With all the movement my first response would be to go in and check all your connections.

Power; drives; etc.

Re-seat your RAM and all cards.

im pretty sure all of the connections are fine because i can sometimes log in. its acting like the CPU is overheating or something but it says its running at normal temp.. unless its misreading the temp or voltage

Can you run in Safe Mode?

no, my motherboard is weird and disables the mouse and keyboard during startup so the keys dont work
