If you want to reinstall XP put in the XP CD and restart the computer.

If you do not get a message that says:

Press any key to boot CD

Then you need to restart and enter the BIOS Setup: usually Press Delete to enter Setup will be seen.

Then set the BIOS Boot Menu to boot the CD drive prior to the hard drive.

Then restart with the XP CD inserted.

Then follow the XP road ...

    ......................

Going back to the LAN or Network question you could also just try to reload the CD that say drivers.

By the way: don't those CD's have any manufacturer's labels on them?

    ...................................

AMD Sempron is the basic ID of your CPU (procesor).

    Just to clarify:

    What is the exact problem?

Outside of that Network diagnostic failing: Does this mean you cannot get online with that computer?

If so have you tried to load the drivers (LAN) from the Drivers and Utility MSI CD?

    ...............

The other operation failing the above was to reinstall XP via booting the XP Home disk.

To do this simply startup the computer with this disk inside.

If the disk does not boot then check the BIOS for your boot order.

Yet even after this you will need to install the drivers from the driver CD.

    .....................

    Sorry if I am confusing.

    Hi,

Yes i can still get in online but as slow as a turtle. I got mad at the computer
and hooked up my hp with windows xp and ran windows diagnostics and the same things are failing. Does this tell me it could be my satillete provider?

If i reinstall the utilities and drivers disc, do i have to uninstall anything?
Should this correct windows diag. problem?

    Thanks

    Deb

I doubt that your ISP has anything to do with it but you can always give them a call. They will run through their standard troubleshooting steps.

Reinstall the drivers would not be a bad idea. Insert disk and follow prompts.

Reinstalling the Operating System (XP) would remove all your data and programs. Backup data first.

If you want to run more tests on the problem computer follow my next post.
