    HP Photosmart 7150 Printer

    Hi to all,
    Running XP pro and after inital print on the HP7150 and computer is idle for a day can try to print something else and get the BSOD. This is the result of trying to print something from the web, from MS Word or from notepad.
    Downloaded debugging tools from Microsoft, and debugwiz. Ran the test and this is the text file...Need help to clear this problem.

    Hp USB printer driver fault.

    If the problem is persistent I'd suggest removing any and all HP printer software, reboot, and try to reinstall the printer.

    I removed all HP 7150 printer software and associated software from PC.
    I also uninstalled the two USB ports and reboot PC.
    After reboot re-install usb hub root.

    Then I tried to install the printer and got this message...

    Printer
    Has not passed Windows logo testing to verify it’s
    Compatibility with windows XP
    Continuing your installation of this software may impair
    Or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing.
    Downloaded latest driver from HP web site and still got the same message.

    Following is a reply from Hp about this issue

    Hewlett-Packard has tested the HP Photosmart 7150 printer software with
    Windows XP and verified compatibility. When those screens appear,
    click
    Continue to install the HP Photosmart 7150 printer software
    successfully.

    This should resolve the issue, However, if the issue persists please
    reply to this e-mail, I will be glad to assist you further

    Thanks for the update.

    Have you tried to install again?

    If the error continues I would see if HP can help.

    If they cannot let us know and we can look further.

    Reloaded last night and so far so good. Will play it by ear and see what happens.

    Still having problems with 7150 after inital install worked great, but after few hours unable to print anything. Unable to to delete all documents from printing and have to restart PC for queded documents to be deleted. Will contact HP again and see if they can help.
