Recently, I have been getting up to 50 or 60 MS Internet Explorer windows opening up all at once. This can occur whether or not I am logged on to the internet. I know I can close them all down as a 'group', but, it really is beginning to get to me now! Can anyone suggest how I can stop it happening or even no what could be causing it.

Not sure if it is related, but I cannot open any of the links in my favorites bar either.

Many thanks for your swift reply. I have done as you suggested and the problem appears to have disappeared for now. Stress levels have returned to normal!!!

Great! Thanks for the followup. Now I recommend you run though those scans on a regular basis - weekly or even more often. I keep my systems on 24/7 so I update and run scans every night when I am asleep.
