Please help,

Applications on my desktop have recently developed a mind of their own. On some applications, just after launching, an error message pops up saying "Such and such application has encountered a problem and must close", then it closes itself. I have tried running my antivirus, but,that closes too. Internet links don't link either.

What's happening???

Any ideas???
