hi.i am hoping soe one might be able to help me.i have reinstalled windows onto my pc (dell desktop) .I now cant hear no sound and when i go onto the volume in control panels all the boxes are light grey and cant be changed.also my screen resolution is dodgy,which ever resolution i set it at ,i then cant move the slider along or change the numbers of bits.when i reinstalled windows the only desktop icon i had was the recycle bin,is this normal.i am wondering as i have had this pc for about 3 years as to whether i might have lost any disks which need to be installed and i now cant find them.i would be real gratefull if any one has any advice they can give.thanks.

i have just done 2 of our home pc's and had the same problem (with the sound) you can try going on windows update, they may have it as one of the optional installs (choose custom, not express) otherwise try and find the disk with the drivers or find out what make it is and go to there website to download drivers.

the only icon being recycle bin is fine.

Put your model into the Dell site:

http://support.dell.com/

And your drivers will be there.
