Yes another BOSD, im sorry =(

well a few time these past months my monitor was on sleep mode? while i powered on my computer and nothing happend so i held the power button until it shut off. so i notice that computer would crash this one day and after i logged on it would ask me about sending an error report but i would never get any more detail about it so it got to the point where i thought a system recovery would fix it.little did i know that this would be horrible for me .the recovery would go well but would crash after entering

What is the make and model of the computer?

What kind of "Recovery" did you try?

Are you saying the "Recovery" failed? If so what is the current status of the computer?

As to basic BSOD diagnostics see this thread:

What is the make and model of the computer?

How old is it? Did it ever work?

Sounds like a hardware problem especially if a reinstall of XP changed nothing.

Dump logs would help to be more specific.

    Compaq Presario S4020WM

Did you perform a "Destructive" Recovery as seen here:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=30142&lang=en

If yes and the same problems persisted then you problem is most likely hardware. If you can get it running long enough to install the debugging tools then dump logs might help define the problem.

You might also try Safe Mode to see if it makes a difference.

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
    If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
    use .trap on that value
    Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
    Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.

That one particular dump was caused by Norton/Symantec software.

I personally would remove any and all of their software as it is extremely troublesome.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

That being said that was only one dump and you said you had many with different call out codes.

Again I would run the HP diagnostic program as well.

    Also load SP2 ASAP!
