I loaded HP drivers off of site,restarted and now boot up fails.
Says 1) secondary IDE channel no 80 pin conductor cable installed.
2) keybord erro or no keybord present.
It hangs, the keybord now does not work.
I tried to move the connectors around for the mouse and k-bord,no change.?? thanks,Jim

What drivers and why? What is the exact HP model & #?

You could try the BIOS Setup and choose to "Set Defaults".

If that doesn't help:

Open the computer and check your motherboard and drive connections.

Also you might try resetting the CMOS.
