Hi I'm new on here hope someone can help when I click on My Computer I just get the yellow and red thing that up to now I always thought was a bolt rolling around but I can now see its a torch searching for files this can stay on for about 5 minuets before the icons appear also when I right click on a photo or file in my documents and run up and down the list every thing works OK until you highlight the send to button and every thing locks up for a few minuets but the mouse pointer still moves and you can open other programs it seems to just affect windows Explorer.

Go to Start/Run and type in:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

Restart your computer.

Go to Start/Run and type in:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

Restart your computer.

Thanks that seems to have fixed it although it didn't work the first time I restarted the computer but the second time after it had been turned off all night it was fine My computer page opens in a flash now.

Glad to hear it. That is a good general quick fix to many issues. It simply re-registers the proper shell.
