How to make a recovery disk without pc recovery disk creator?

    Hallo All..

Will somebody please help me.. I am busy going crazy here..

My HP Pavillion dv6000 OS (XP) crashed.. Because this only happen to other people I have never created the recovery disk. I have one of the systems were the recovery disk is hidden in the hard drive..

I panicked.. Remembering the recovery system I worked out a genius plan to recover it. Using my desktop Windows cd I formated the part of the partition the crashed part was in.. Planning to get to the recovery part and make a back up..

All well.. except.. Who could have thought I need a HP program for it.. I thought it would be good enough to make a nero back up.. and the laptop will boot from it.. 2 Disk.. It doesnt..

Can somebody Please tell me how I can make a back up without the recovery disk creator?

it sounds to me that you need a windows disk, if you have formatted the hard drive and lost windows?

I may be missing something here but i think it is a windows xp disk you are after, you can borrow one off someone (providing that it is the same version e.g home, professional and also, you need to use your own product key, found on a sticker on your pc somewhere)

Thank you so much for answering..

No, I am not after a windows xp disk here.. I got my desktops one and already used it.. Just like you described.. Even if my desktop and laptop both use Windows xp home, the OS look and work very different..

I got no HP wireless assistant, no network card drivers.. That is only the beginning of my troubles.. I am In hell!!

I want to restore my laptop to its original condition.. I still got the recovery partition on my hard drive.. untouched.. All the information I need is in there.. I just don't know how to access it.. Oh yes, did I mention the hp program "recovery disk creator" is gone to?

I guess i am after that program.. Or ANY other suggestion on how to make a recovery disk without the program...

I got ALL the information.. I just don't know how to use it..

    Please help!!

ps: I love, LOVE, LoVe! my laptop.. In fact, I am in love with my laptop.. There is nothing I don't love about her.. There is something unnatural the way I feel about her.. I miss her.. The way she looked when I start up.. The endless hours I spend on her.. There is nothing she wouldn't do for me..

Signed.. Mareloo.. The one stumbling around the hidden partition.. Crying.. Why, oh why!! Please come back to me!

I will order the recovery disk set if I absolutely have to.. It just seem such a waist to me, considering that i do have the info on my computer.. All I need is a program to create the disks.. On top of that, I think it will take a lot of time.. I live in Africa!

Maybe time to cut my losses and upgrade to vista? Will that sort my problem?

Another thing.. For now.. How do I get my Internet back up and running? I downloaded all the drivers there is to download.. but still.. No connection.. Is there maybe a guide some were with step by step instructions? The guide on the HP page doesn't solve my problem..
