    Laptop screen brightness

When I boot my laptop up and its plugged in the the ac adater its very bright but when I log onto my username the brightness is dramatically lowered. How can I change my screen brightness?

I tried power options but no help there I even clicked on the battery icon in the traybar and all it gives me is a power meter that just give me details on the battery.

Ive been trying everything to change the brightness because I know it can get way brighter. Any help would be appreciated.

usualy, you press the 'Fn' button along with a key on the keyboard (should have a blue symbol like a sun or something)

I found this in your manual:
The LCD brightness adjustment is controlled by <Fn> +<F8> and <Fn> + <F9> keys respectively. You need to press these hot-key controls after powering on your notebook to suit your viewing pleasure.
The Brightness hot-key control adjusts the brightness on the LCD. The brightness hot-key control will not set the LCD completely dark or bright; it provides sufficient lighting to the LCD to match the external lighting of the surrounding. The brighter the room, the more you need to increase the brightness of the LCD.

Thank you madmikejt12 for finding that information. I would have never of thought of looking at the manual.

here is the link to the manual: http://www.everex.com/support/xt5000...ser_manual.pdf

I found it by chosing your model in the "Support Quick-Link" drop down menu on the left, then going to downloads

This is also where you find your driver downloads should you need them in the future.

    Glad you got it sorted
