    Need help with BSOD

    Hi everyone,

    I have a user running a whitebox computer (whose sister machines have had bluescreen problems in the past) that is BSODing randomly every few days. Looking back in the Windows Minidump folder it seems to have been going on for three years, as long as the computer has been in production.

    Before I swap out the memory or decide it is not worth the hassle I'd like to run the information I have by you guys. Attached is the Debugwiz generated log. The log indicates Acrobat as a faulting application. This is the same faulting application in 4 other dumps. kmixer.sys also comes up a lot. Other than that I do not know what to look for. Let me know if any other information may be pertinent.

    Thanks!

    There's two AV programs installed. ShldDrv.SYS belongs to Panda AV. From that dump it looks to be a conflict between Panda AV and Norton AV. Uninstall Panda for problem isolation.

    BugCheck 1000008E, {c0000005, 8051b03f, ee50d74c, 0}
    *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for SYMEVENT.SYS -
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for savrt.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for navex15.sys <-- This and the 2 files above belong to Norton.
    Probably caused by : ShldDrv.SYS ( ShldDrv+1925 ) <-- Panda.

    This sounds exactly like the last bluescreen problem. However, they are not running Panda. It may have been installed before I began supporting these machines but it should not be running now.

    Looks like you have the remnants of Panda leftover then, because PavProc.sys is also a Panda file. You can find the files associated with Panda here (at the bottom).
