    Disabled drives

    Hi

Just had a power cut and now PC will not boot up beyond listing the drives.
Managed to get into the setup and on the screen that lists the boot order of the drives they are all in square brackets. When highlighted a message on the right of the screen says that the square brackets means they are disabled which would explain why XP won't load.
I tried to enable them from the screen without success. Can they be enabled from the screen or am I missing something?

When you hit Enter with the drive highlighted is there an option to Enable?

If not I would try setting the BIOS Defaults then Save and reboot.

If your system was set to restart after power failure then completely power off the PC for a few minutes.

Apologies for the delay in replying.
I tried all of the above but it made no difference. Shut off PC and went to bed. Next day switched on and it worked fine and has done ever since.Strange! Going to fit some spike protection in the mains supply. Thanks for the help.
