my computer restarts after logo screen first it loads up like the little bar comes up the stops for a second then my speakers make a noise then restarts then every time after that it ask to go in safe mode but the same stuff happens.... i have a hp a610n computer running xp

Can you start in Safe Mode?

If not do you have the HP Recovery CD?

There appears to also be a Non Destructive option from pressing F10 at power up.

It is advised to backup your valuable data but you would need to slave this drive in another computer in order to do so.

Other wise a Non-Destructive (or Repair) install should retain your data.

A Destructive (or Clean) install will provide the most benefit as to a fresh start. All data will be lost.

wat is slave.... how do i do it.....when i press f10 nothing happens...yes im doing it at the right spot but its just not comming up

If F10 is not working I guess you need your HP CD.

You should still have the option between a Non-Destructive repair and a Destructive clean installation.

The Repair should leave you data and programs intact. The Clean will format the hard drive removing anything you have added since it was brand new.

Slaving the drive to access your old data requires moving it into another tower as a slave drive. Then using the other computer to access and copy the data in question.
