***STOP 08e erros when gaming
hi all i have been trying to solve my problem for days now with no luck so i hope someone here can help me.
the problem is everytime i try to play a game it crashes and reboots.so i changed it so it doesnt auto-reboot. got the BSOD and this is what it read.
***STOP:0X0000008E (0XC0000005,5XBFAABE50,0XF1288ALE,0X00000000)
***ati3duag.dll-Adress BFAABE56 base at BFA93000, Datestamp 4458dbcc
so i reboot it then when it loads up and i get back to desktop an winddows error report box comes up saying.
Microsoft Windows
The system has recovered from a serious error. A log of this error has been created. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to help us improve Microsoft Windows. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous. heres the log from that.

now this happens everytime i try and play a game the game loads up but as soon as there is in game graphics on the screen it crashes.
it has been suggested to me that my ati drivers are the fault because of the line: ati3duag.dll but i have the latest drivers for my card and have re-installed them with no effect.
if it is needed i can also show my hijack this log.
oh and my card is the Radeon 7500 and i have all the system reqiaments to run the games im trying one of which is old and i have played it on this very computor but not for about half a year.
im am i complet novice well not even a novice i litrally no nothing about comps i only got as far as finding out the BSOD two days ago and since i havnt got anywhere.
so can anyone help me please it would be greatly appriciated.

Did you completely uninstall all ATI drivers before reinstalling?
Also when reinstalling did you turn off your anti-virus?
From the above the problem is your ATI drivers.
If you want more detailed analysis read the sticky at the top of this XP section: BSOD diagnostics.
-
well as far as i know i completly uninstalled them is there some special process
no i didnt turn anti-virus off and im not sure how too.
cheers for the reply if you or anyone can give me any help on making sure my drivers are completly uninstalled and maybe how to make sure my anti-virus is off i would be greatful.
-
ATI instructions:
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...estionID=20870
As to AV right click the icon down by the clock and choose the option to turn off/exit/stop/etc.
If this doesn't help then post some full dump logs as seen in BSOD Diagnostics.
-
ok so i followed the instructions for ati drivers and i think i turned my virus and firewall off. only problem was then instuctions it says you need to remove something called DAO but it was not on my add/remove programes list and even now after re-install its still not there.
anyway the problem still persists so here is my minidump log.

VAL - MCi_STATUS register is valid
Indicates that the information contained within the IA32_MCi_STATUS
register is valid. When this flag is set, the processor follows the
rules given for the OVER flag in the IA32_MCi_STATUS register when
overwriting previously valid entries. The processor sets the VAL
flag and software is responsible for clearing it.
UC - Error Uncorrected
Indicates that the processor did not or was not able to correct the
error condition. When clear, this flag indicates that the processor
was able to correct the error condition.
EN - Error Enabled
Indicates that the error was enabled by the associated EEj bit of the
IA32_MCi_CTL register.
MISCV - IA32_MCi_MISC Register Valid
Indicates that the IA32_MCi_MISC register contains additional
information regarding the error. When clear, this flag indicates
that the IA32_MCi_MISC register is either not implemented or does
not contain additional information regarding the error.
ADDRV - IA32_MCi_ADDR register valid
Indicates that the IA32_MCi_ADDR register contains the address where
the error occurred.
PCC - Processor Context Corrupt
Indicates that the state of the processor might have been corrupted
by the error condition detected and that reliable restarting of the
processor may not be possible.

haha looks like total code to me oh well hope you can shead some light on it cheers for your help so far.
EDIT: whoa i just noticed some parts of my log have been changed into smilies lol
-
That last dump was totally different from the first. The last was hardware and it was your CPU.
Do you only have problems in games? Have you ever been able to play these games on this computer?
Post more dumps if you get them.
-
well my comp sometimes reboots out of games but very very rarely
well one of the games i tried to play EE2 i have played numerious times on this comp. but before i even knew bout this problem i ordered CC:geanerals which ive never played before but i have all specs for it to work.
they both do the exact same thing.
i have loads of logs just not sure which ones to post im gonna put the game in let it do it again and just post the latest one i get.
-
ok heres my latest one i think the one i posted before was old i didnt check its date stupid of me.

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: bfaabe56, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: f26f9a2c, Trap Frame
Arg4: 00000000
Debugging Details:
------------------
EXCEPTION_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000005 - The instruction at "0x%08lx" referenced memory at "0x%08lx". The memory could not be "%s".

I've just seen the same error on another forum, and it looks to be RAM related - see below (post #5). If you have more than one stick of RAM, try running with just one. If it still crashes, or after a period of time where it doesn't crash, try the other stick by itself.
Your error: Probably caused by : ati3duag.dll ( ati3duag!vGDI3DAATextOut+4526 )

ok man there is a problem though i only have one stick of RAM
i do however have some sticks that i was gonna use to upgrade my old comp but never used them. are all RAM sticks useable in all comps or are they specifically made for each PC.
and would i just take out the old one and put a new one in or is there some special proceedure?
