does any one know how to put this right, i am running win xp sp2 when i try to run check disk the black box opens then it says warning.. f parameter not specified ntfs check disk running in read mode only? not an experience pc wiz dont understand all the teq stuff please help!!!!!!!!!!

The /f parameter tells checkdisk to "fix" any found problems. If it's not specified on the command, this warning will appear. As an example, in a command window, you should type in; chkdsk /f d:.

If you're running chkdsk through windows, on a "drive properties/tools" box, indicate that you want it to "Automatically fix file system errors".
