    Notification Area Icons

    Hello
I have looked for an answer but no one seems to have quite the same problem

I have a brand new Dell desktop computer running Windows Media Centre. I like to alter the choices in the Notification Area to hide or show different Icons. Within the last week however I have no choices. I go to Taskbar>Properties>Taskbar>Hide Inactive Icons>Customize as usual, but instead of the 3 choices, every item has "Hide When Inactive". When I click on any item although it shows a down arrow, there is no drop down menu so I cannot show/hide.

I have the chevrons and sometimes all the icons can be seen by clicking on them and sometimes only some of them while others have disappeared completely!

PLEASE can someone help? It may seem a small problem compaired to other people's but it has become SO annoying!

    Many thanks
    Jo

Sorry, forgot to say I have tried most of these fixes to no effect

In fact I have now lost the chevrons!

    This is getting annoying

Is there anything else you can think of please?

    Hello All

If anyone is reading this thread in the same difficulty, the problem is SOLVED!

Go to http://www.windowsbbs.com[/URL] - a thread about 4 weeks ago by Gemo with reply by noahdfear

Try changing your Windows Theme (right click your Desktop > Properties > Themes tab) Apparently it can happen as in my case when you are using a "Modified" theme

    Hope this helps someone!

    Best wishes
    Jo
